Exotic skins and sparkle for Fellows’ August watch auction

Fellows auction house is lining up another sizeable August watch auction, with an array of Rolex timepieces, diamond-set designs and ‘affordable vintage’ models.

One of the most striking lots in the August 23rd auction is a gentleman’s Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, from the Rolex Daytona Beach collection. This striking model is anticipated to turn heads and set bidding alight with its green chrysoprase stone dial and matching green lizard leather strap.

Positioned alongside it will be lot 304, a Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT bracelet watch. Dating from 1968 and referenced as 1675, this timepiece comes to auction in line with the growing popularity of Rolex sports watches among collectors. Fellows notes that, with a guide price of £2,000-£2,500, this watch has already won great pre-sale interest.

A collection of Rolex Prince watches will also feature in the August sale, with estimates ranging from £3,000 to £6,500.

Among various men’s and women’s styles, Fellows notes the number of diamond-set watches due to feature, with lots from Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin positioned as affordable, sparkling timepieces for interested buyers.

Also highlighted in Fellows’ August auction is lot 114, a Heuer Carrera chronograph that the auction house has tipped as ‘one to watch’, with the growing popularity pre-Tag Heuer watches.

Models lined up under £500 estimates include a Roamer Stringray Chrono chronograph, and a number of pieces from mid-range brands such as Hamilton and Rado.

Fellows’ august Watch sale will take place on 23rd August at 11am, with previews in London and Birmingham the week prior.
