Elliot Brown Watches enlists British adventurer as brand ambassador

British adventurer Sam Sykes has been recruited as an ambassador for high-performance watch brand Elliot Brown Watches.

The Duke of Edinburgh Approved Activity Provider (AAP) was enlisted for his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his unrivalled dedication to the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, the brand said.

Co-founder Ian Elliot told WatchPro: “As a renowned Duke of Edinburgh leader and speaker Sam was delighted to have come across a watch that unlike many others he has owned, is capable of shrugging the rigours of life in the field yet looks equally at home with a smart shirt when performing his varied public speaking duties.

Elliot Brown Watches was focused on finding a representative that embodies the brand’s adventurous and active products.

Mr Elliot continued: “We are proud to enjoy relationships with some amazing people and it’s the people, their personalities and their incredible journeys and reputation that are a rubber stamp for our brand.

“A good word to sum it up would be credibility. We aren’t the kind of brand that pays celebrities to wear our watches – there’s a far greater sense of fit-for purpose desirability that our ambassadors enjoy supporting.”

Mr Sykes’ organisation, Sam Sykes Ltd, is now seen as one of the world’s leading providers of Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Commenting on his new role, he said: “I am excited and honoured to become an ambassador for Elliot Brown watches. I look forward to working closely with the guys at Elliot Brown, and wearing their outstanding timepieces.”

Elliot Brown Watches has become synonymous with all things adventure after forging links with Mountain Rescue England & Wales, Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, the military and the fire service.

Elliot Brown Watches have survived a 40,000 mile yacht race around the world.
