Edox has celebrated the recent achievement of its extreme freediving ambassador Christian Redl by launching its new Iceman timepiece in homage to his record-breaking ice dive in Nepal.
Redl last month embarked on a freedive at an altitude of 5,160m high up in the Nepalese mountains, having undergone intense training. His dive took place at the Gokyo lakes, with Redl becoming the first human to ever dive in icy waters at such an altitude, and in an oxygen deficient atmosphere.
The brand has now launched the Iceman II watch, which is water resistant to 1,000m and boasts “an ultra robust and reliable chronograph movement”.
The 45mm watch has a black case and anthracite dial to reflect the depths of the water that Redl was diving in, and has a rubber strap to fit over wetsuits.
It will be limited to just 203 pieces, as the deepest of the Gokyo lakes measures 203ft.
