Young Swiss watch brand Dwiss unveiled the world’s first Niobium watch to the buyers at last weekend’s HKTDC Watch and Clock Fair in Hong Kong.
The brand, founded by award-winning Brazilian designer Rafael Simones Miranda, is pioneering the use of Niobium in watches, a material more commonly found in MRI machines, medical prosthetics and high technology.
The material boasts anti-corrosive and hypoallergenic characteristics as well as greater shock absorption than stainless steel.
The 41mm CBMM Niobium watch features a pure Niobium case containing a mechanical self-winding movement with 42-hour power reserve, date indication and alligator strap.
