Dubois marks 230th year with charity auctions

Watchmaker Dubois et fils is celebrating its 230th anniversary in 2015 by auctioning off a watch on its website every month.

The watchmaker regularly auctions timepieces on its website, but in 2015 the proceeds of 11 watches sold at monthly auction will go towards the company’s DBF Social project, to which it has already donated CHF 30,700 (£21,500).

April’s watch, a Dubois et Fils Virage, represents the first time the company has auctioned an 18ct gold watch and features a handwound 736.7 La Joux Perret movement with power reserve indicator and moon phase.

The solid gold Virage example offered is limited to 799 pieces and is number 589 in the series.

Bidding closes on Tuesday 14 April at 10am and currently stands at CHF 3,530 (£2,466).
