Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions presents rare Rolex Military Submariner at March sale

The next Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions vintage watch sale will have a rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual Military Submariner, ref. 5513 in stainless steel as its star lot.

The model was ordered by the Ministry of  Defence in the early 1970s with specific requirements including fixed bars so that the straps could not be pulled off, and sword hands for increased legibility.

The 1975 watch (pictured top) has a pre-sale estimate of £40,000-60,000.

The Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions Fine Jewellery, Watches and Silver sales takes place on 15 March at Donnington Priory, Newbury, Berkshire.

The auction will have significant pieces from Rolex, Omega and Glashütte, along with important ladies watches by Louis Jardin and Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Another Rolex certain to get collectors competing is an  Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona in 18 carat white gold which has an estimate of £7,000 – 10,000.

A Bovet Sportster Saguaro ref. C806.1, wristwatch in 18 carat gold from around 2010 is another star lot with an estimate of £8,000-12,000.
