Consumer goods show continues watch showcase

Consumer goods trade show Tendence has announced a dedicated watch area will feature in its 2014 show in Frankfurt for the second year running.

Time Square will showcase fashion and design-orientated brands including Aristo Vollmer, Capella, Filius Zeitdesign, Heinz Ratius, Katharina Cremer, Oozoo Timepieces and Unique Time at the show which opens on August 30.

Yvonne Englemann, giving director of Tendence, explained: “As in the case of bags and jewellery, watches are becoming increasingly popular as a supplementary product line. Thus, for retailers from the lifestyle of fashion sectors, Time Square is a welcome addition to the broad range of products to be found at our fair”.

The show, which uses the tagline ‘perfect date – perfect time’, aims to place Christmas orders at the forefront of visitor’s minds. Time Square made its debut at last year’s show and will appear at the centre of the Carat jeweller section.

Kevin Schaubel, chief executive officer of Oozoo Timepieces, said: “Tendence provides the ideal setting in which we can reach our customers with ease. We not only supply jewellers – around 70 percent of our orders come from the lifestyle, gift and fashion trades. Time Square is an excellent innovation, particularly when it comes to new customers because buyers looking for watches are now sure to make their way to Time Square first.”
