Condor Group streamlines global operations with acquisition of Condor Ledermode in Austria

Condor Group has announced the acquisition of Condor Ledermode in Austria.

Condor Ledermode serviced both the Austrian home market and also an international export market.

Condor Group, based in London, has a very similar business model, servicing both domestic UK retailers and also exporting to international clients with its brands that include Royal London watches, Sony and Renata batteries, as well as its range of watch straps.

Condor Group’s director, Nashi Bhoja, and Condor Ledermode’ s now-retired owner, Ernst Kilian, have enjoyed a non-compete gentlemen’s agreement together for decades.

This has meant that, although the Austrian Condor company had exported to 40 different countries, none of these overlapped with Condor Group London’s own export list.

In this respect, the acquisition of Condor Ledermode by Condor Group in London is as natural a merger as could be hoped for.

The Austrian office in Wels is now closed and all international export stock has already been transferred to Condor Group’s London office, while domestic Austrian business will be conducted by Condor Group’s German distributor.

The acquisition cements and enhances Condor Group’s reputation as being one of the most established and trusted suppliers, both domestically and internationally, in the whole watch trade.
