Citizen houses fastest GPS tech in World Time GPS

Citizen has taken the wraps off of its Satellite Wave World Time GPS, a watch using the same ‘fastest reception’ GPS technology as its sibling, the recently launched Satellite Wave F900.

The light-powered Eco Drive watch can determine its correct local time anywhere in the world using GPS reception within three seconds based on 27 cities or 40 time zones. Once fully charged, the Satellite Wave World Time GPS will operate for up to two years.

Mark Robinson, managing director of Citizen Watch UK, said: “Citizen prides itself on being a brand of firsts, always striving to push the boundaries of technology, whilst remaining accessible to our audience. With the launch of the new Satellite Wave World Time GPS, our aim is to bring our satellite technology to a broader market of watch enthusiasts whilst mirroring the success of its predecessors.”

This is reflected in the price of the Satellite Wave World Time GPS, which at £749 is considerably less than the Super-titanium Satellite Wave F900 which sells for £1,495.

The Satellite Wave World Time GPS also includes a perpetual calendar; daylight savings time indicator, power reserve indicator, light level power indicator, day/date and 100m water resistance.
