Chopard becomes official Porsche timekeeper

Chopard will be a part of Porsche’s long-awaited return to Le Mans this year after becoming the car manufacturer’s official timing partner.

The Swiss watchmaker will join the German sports car manufacturer at the LMP1 Endurance Championship in June and is the latest chapter in the company’s association with motorsport that includes links to the Mille Miglia classic car rally and Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and legendary Porsche driver and six-time Le Mans winner, Jacky Ickx, who was also a Chopard brand ambassador.

Porsche’s line-up of drivers for its pair of 919 Hybrid Le Mans cars will include former Red Bull Formula One driver Mark Webber along with Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard in the #20 car and Neel Jani, Romain Dumas and Marc Lieb in the #14.
