Patravi dive watch

Carl F. Bucherer makes a splash with new watch

By Hallie Engel

Carl F. Bucherer is introducing the newest addition to the Patravi family, the Patravi ScubaTec, a dependable divers’ watch designed to offer optimum readability.

Integrated into the watch’s 44.6mm stainless steel case, the CFB 1950.1 automatic calibre is certified by a COSC chronometer certificate for accuracy. To ensure safety when measuring the duration of a dive, the bezel of the Patravi ScubaTec can only be rotated clockwise, preventing a dangerous situation in the event of accidental manipulation.

The generously proportioned dial of the three-hand watch guarantees fast and accurate readability, and both its hands and markers are coated with super luminova material that glows in the dark and remains visible even in murky water. The watch’s black dial is protected by a sapphire crystal nearly 4 mm thick, and a helium valve makes certain that when the wearer is descending and ascending in the diving bell, gas escapes automatically so that the case will not sustain damage.

The distinctive design of the Patravi ScubaTec also indicates its function as a diver’s watch. The glowing blue markers, the marking on the first quarter of the bezel, and the notch of the same colour on the crown are all symbolic of the sea. On the back of the timepiece two manta rays are depicted with a 3D effect. The integrated bracelet extension makes the length of the bracelet individually adjustable, allowing the watch to easily be worn over a diving suit.
