Camden Watch Company heads to Watchshop and Japan

Camden Watch Company, the watch brand launched by the founders of AMS Design last year, has announced three new retailers giving the fledgling brand global reach.

The brand, the product of Camden residents Anneke Short and Jerome Robert, has been taken on by Watchshop.com, all five of the The Conran Shops in Japan as well as Japanese watch retailer Time & Table.

Terry Markham, buyer and online merchandiser at Watchshop.com, said: “Having met Jerome and Anneke, we were impressed with their passion and attention to detail in their products. More than just a passing connection, the designs are infused throughout with Camden and quintessential Britishness, and offer a fantastic, value-for-money, vintage-inspired product."

With one of the UK’s largest online watch retailers and a number of Japanese retailers in the bag, the London-centric brand has not forgotten its Camden roots.

Short and Robert have also devised a Click, Drink and Collect service to be run in conjunction with Camden cafe, The Coffee Jar.

After buying a Camden Watch Company watch online, the timepiece can be collected from the cafe, along with a free coffee or tea. The scheme has been introduced as part of a move to work closely with local businesses in and around Camden Town.
