Burton McCall secured the UK Â distribution of Wenger’s watches at Baselworld.
The distributor will be looking to replicate the success it has had with Victorinox, Mondaine and Luminox in the UK.
Colin Lee, director of sales for Burton McCall’s watch business, showed WatchPro the Wenger collection at Baselworld and told us: “Burton McCall’s success in recent years has naturally increased our visibility as a strong choice for Swiss watch Brands looking for professional UK distribution. Whilst we are hugely honoured to be considered it is really important that we make the right choices with brands that will complement what we already do by strengthening our current offer.
“We are really pleased to be awarded the exclusive UK distribution for Wenger and where this will inevitably increase our customer base it strengthens our ‘Swiss Made’ portfolio to our existing customers to whom we owe a great deal for their contribution to our success.”
Wenger is now owned by Victorinox and underwent a major shake-up in 2015 when it developed a new range of Swiss made products with a 3 year warranty. Investment from Victorinox to the tune of CHF 30m (£22m) has given the brand new state-of-the-art production facilities in Delamont, Switzerland with product being made alongside Victorinox.
Lee added: “Where this gives us reassuring piece of mind to the high quality of manufacture we are still somewhat taken aback by the amazing retail prices that we can offer the UK consumer that recognises the value of ‘Swiss Made’. Burton McCall’s watch team will now be presenting Wenger to retailers upon their return from Baselworld and welcome enquiries.
