Bulova moves corporate HQ to Empire State Building

Bulova is celebrating its 140th anniversary, and what better way to mark the occasion than by moving its headquarters to one of the world’s most iconic addresses: New York’s Empire State Building.

A party to celebrate the move will have former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as its guest of honour.

Bulova is the official timekeeper for the football club.

"The new space is a perfect home for our expanding portfolio of watch brands, and signifies a new period of growth for the company," said Bulova president Gregory Thumm.

"Moving back into the center of the fashion capital of the world provides us with a renewed energy and creative spirit while honouring our company’s Manhattan origins,” he added.

The new office on the 29th floor features a collaborative, open workspace designed to encourage creativity and innovation.

The space offers 360-degree Midtown panoramas, a shop-in-shop environment, and a reception area with displays set up as a rotating exhibit. Its hand-painted floor features the exposed-dial design of the original Bulova Accutron Spaceview.

This move takes Bulova back to its roots, as the company was originally located in lower Manhattan.

Its founder Joseph Bulova opened his first store on Maiden Lane, which was the epicenter of New York City’s jewellery industry.
