Bremont becomes spy thriller’s timepiece of choice

Bremont Watch Company will raise its profile around the world later this year when its timepieces appear in a major Hollywood blockbuster.

The British brand has been chosen by director Matthew Vaughn to provide watches for his new film Kingsman: The Secret Service. The film, due to be released mid-October, stars Colin Firth, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Caine and emerging actor Taron Egerton.

Bremont is featured throughout the film having produced the mechanical watches for the Kingsman agents themselves as well as the new trainees in the agency, Nick English (Co-Founder Bremont) also makes a cameo role as one of the Kingsman.

Matthew Vaughn says that a special agent’s watches are a critical part of his armoury, and he is delighted to have been able to use a British brand. “Kingsman are first and foremost British, which made Bremont watches the perfect fit. Apart from making fantastic mechanical watches, Bremont have links to the military and their special forces around the world, making them the perfect timepieces for the modern spy,” he said.

Nick English, co-founder of Bremont added; “It was a great honour for Bremont to be chosen to work on the Kingsman film, and it was wonderful to see how proactive Matthew (Vaughn) has been in the whole process. We pride ourselves on making durable, mechanical chronometers in Henley-on-Thames and so the whole British connection is spot on and we pride ourselves on the work we do manufacturing for the military so the connection is very relevant.”

Each Kingsman agent in the film wears a rose gold chronograph on an alligator strap, whilst the trainee recruits sport a black stealth-like chronograph on a NATO band.

Bremont Kingsman watches will launch in September, one month ahead of the movie’s release.
