Breitling has broken with the tradition of saving its major watch launches for Baselworld by presenting a full family of Premier watches at what it calls the Breitling Summit, held in London today.
Jouranlists from across Europe and North America gathered for a series of updates, the most significant of which was the addition of five Premier models that the company says bring fashionable flair to its portfolio.
“The new Breitling Premier collection combines purpose with style, delivering quality, performance, and timeless design that are worthy of the watch brand’s proud legacy,” Breitling’s CEO Georges Kern says.
“This is the first modern Breitling collection dedicated to everyday elegance. With outstanding quality and performance, these watches bear our unmistakable brand DNA, but they have been created with a focus on style that beautifully complements their purpose.” He adds.
The watches take inspiration from the first Premier watches launched in 1943.
The collection includes chronographs, day and date models, and three-hand automatics.
Top of the line is the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 models, equipped with the Breitling manufacture Caliber 01. The 42mm models are offered with black, blue or silver dials.
The Premier Chronograph 42 uses the Breitling Caliber 13, an adapted movement from Valjoux while the Automatic Day Date 40 model houses the ETA-made Breitling 45 calibre and the three-handed Automatic 40 uses a Breitling 37 movement, also from ETA.
The most expensive new model is the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green, the latest watch from a partnership that the watchmaker and carmaker first signed in 2002.
