Braun and Dezeen use unique dark blue dial on co-designed limited edition

Braun and Dezeen have collaborated to create a limited edition timepiece in a never-before-seen dark blue colour.

Dezeen is global architecture and design publication and style authority that ran its own online watch shop until this summer, but closed it due to falling profit margins.

Braun’s limited edition BN0031 joins a collection of reissued watches based on original designs created by German industrial designers Dieter Rams and Dietrich Lubs for Braun in the 1970s.

The defining feature of the BN0031 is its dark blue colour, which is exclusive to the partnership.

Priced at £150, the unisex watch has a classic Bauhaus design with less common touches such as bright yellow second hand.

“Braun watches are among the most iconic timepieces of all time and we’re really honoured that the brand has chosen Dezeen for this collaboration,” said Dezeen founder and editor-in-chief Marcus Fairs.

“We’re sure that this unique watch will be a hit with our design-savvy audience of over 2.5 million monthly readers and, being a limited edition, will be a collector’s piece in years to come.”

Only 250 numbered pieces have been made. The individual number is engraved on the back of the case, along with the Braun and Dezeen logos.

“It has been fantastic to work with the Dezeen team to create this limited-edition watch,” says Braun watches and clocks designer Richard Benc. “It offers a unique appearance to a classic timepiece that follows Braun’s core values of functionality, quality and aesthetics.”

The BN0031 is available exclusively from Braun-clocks.com for a limited period for £150 from today (September 7).
