BRANDS OF SIHH 2016: A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst

A. Lange & Söhne has poured all of its creativity from the 200th anniversary year of founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s birth into new product with a number of successful commemorative 1815 models.

The latest, and last, is the real headline piece, the 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst.

The special monicker, which means artisanship, is reserved for special limited edition timepieces from Lange which exhibit special finishing techniques. Not only does the 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst feature a black rhodium-plated pink gold tremblage-engraved dial – which sets it apart from a model released in 2014 – but it is capable of single-second setting accuracy thanks to two separate mechanisms.

The L102.1 calibre includes not only a Zero-Reset function, first launched in 1997, and the 2008 stop-seconds device, which halts the tourbillon. Just 30 pieces of the 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst will be produced.
