Beaverbrooks’s Westfield Stratford has become one of the first jewellers in the UK to accept payments using Alipay.
Alipay is a real time in-store payment solution used by 450 million people in China.
When shopping abroad using Alipay, the system deducts the amount of a payment from the buyer’s Alipay account in real-time in Chinese yuan, and then settles the payment to the merchant in their own currency.
The Alipay system is in use at Beaverbrooks in Westfield Stratford as part of a Verifone e355 mPOS solution.
