Ball 2012

Ball Watch Company adds first female ambassador

Edurne Pasaban has become the first woman to join the Ball Explorers Club, an illustrious group of adventurers that includes extreme mountaineers, skiers, astronauts and divers.

Pasaban is the only woman in the world to have scaled 14 mountains of over 8,000 metres in height.

She was unveiled as an ambassador to the Ball Watch Company alongside the 2012 collection of timepieces from the US brand that are designed to appeal to customers that demand ruggedness and reliability from their watches.

Unveiled at Baselworld were the Engineer Hydrocarbon Ceramic Midsize Automatic Series, targeted at the mountaineering community, and the Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU, the world’s first diving watch with a helium release valve incorporated into the crown.

NEDU is the Navy Experimental Diving Unit, the body of the United States Navy that oversees the rules and techniques used by the US armed forces. The NEDU watches are water resistant to up to 600 metres.
