Backes & Strauss, which began life as a diamond trader in London over 200 years ago, is opening its first watch boutique in the heart of Mayfair.
The store on Grosvenor Street will present contemporary timepieces from the Duchess, Renaissance, Royal Jester and Victoria collections, along with historical archives of the company dating back to the late 19th Century.
These archive documents reveal the extent of the company’s in sourcing the finest rough diamonds, polishing them and distributing them to an international clients including Cartier, Bulgari, Tiffany, Mikimoto and Boucheron.
Backes & Strauss is currently owned by Franck Muller Group. Its watches are sold in Frosts of London, Harrods and Pacha.
