Armand Nicolet goes back to the future for latest watch roll-out

Armand Nicolet has used Baselworld 2017 to unveil two brand new collections to the market.

The O.H.M. (Original Historical Movement) Series features original historical movements from the 1950s and 1960s that are recovered and reused within the design.

This series is produced only as a limited edition because the quantity is determined by the amount of original historical movements still available.

“Our skilled watchmakers manually restore, tune and re-assemble each of these unique pieces,” a company spokesperson explained. “These precious movements are the result of many years of expertise and dedication to the fine art of watch-making.”

A decade after the launch of the L06 collection (the forerunner to the Limited Edition Series), meanwhile, the company has introduced its successor.

While keeping alive some traits of the historic version, such as the skeletonised pattern and the guilloché dial, the L16 is the result of a modernisation process that gives the collection a fresh and classy look.

The skeletonised dial allows full display of the beautiful movement from 1953 and the distinctive O.H.M sign clearly printed on the dial.

The L16 collection will be produced in 299 pieces, with the model at the top of this article retailing for CHF6,500 (£5,250).

The LB6 collection (pictured in the body of the article) will be produced in 225 pieces and retails for CHF4,900 (£3,957)
