Aerowatch adds moon phase complication to its 1942

Aerowatch has expanded its 1942 watch collection with a timepiece featuring a new interpretation of the moon phase display.

The brand’s 1942 signature collection can trace its heritage back to the very first watches created by the Swiss atelier. It was the name of the company’s first family of wristwatches, and takes its design cues from vintage pocket watches.

The UK is currently not covered by the brand’s network of retail partners, despite countries including Germany and France boasting over 40 points of sale between them.

The latest addition, the 1942 Phases de Lune, has a self-winding movement with perlage-decorated bridges and a centrifugal mass adorned with Geneva striping.

In addition to the moon phases in the dial aperture at 10 o’clock, this new model has an analog date at 6 o’clock that sequences the days with the timeline of the lunar cycle.

The argenté dial with a guilloched center indicates the hours with Roman numerals at its periphery as a tribute to horological know-how.

The watch comes in a 42mm steel case with sapphire-crystal glass on the front and back.
