A Saxonia wristwatch from A. Lange & Söhne fetched the top price of £10,000 at August’s The Watch Sale at Fellows.
The auction also saw Rolex perform well, including a Rolex Daytona Beach with a chrysoprase dial and matching green lizard leather strap, which sold for £9,200, almost £2,000 over its top estimate.
A 1968 stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Date GMT-Master bracelet watch with a faded bezel beat its estimate twice over to sell for £5,700.
Alongside Rolex, ever popular brands Breitling and Omega also sold well, Fellows reports, while an Audemars Piguet bi-material Royal Oak Offshore chronograph wristwatch went under the hammer for £7,100.
Collecting watches isn’t just for millionaires. Fellows offers 1970s Seiko models, which are increasing in popularity, for as little as £160.
The September Watch Sale will take place on Tuesday 27th at 11am.
