Mon sbb evo petite group

50 Brands of Basel: Mondaine

Mondaine will be showcasing five new collections that will expand its offering in 2016 at Baselworld next month.

New for SS16 is the SBB Evo Petit collection which pairs a 26mm steel version of Mondaine’s familiar SBB watch head with a choice of four feminine lizard-look leather straps offered in soft pastel hues. The diminutive collection is given extra presence by bold square lugs. Available now, the SBB Evo Petit retails for £179.

If you’re more into the monochrome look then the SBB Giant Black & White will suit to a tee. The three 42mm models use black IP-plating to achieve various mixes of black and white – not forgetting Mondaine’s trademark red lollipop second hand. Available in August, the models will have an RRP of £225.

The SBB Mini Giant might sound like a contradiction in terms but these three new models on Milanese mesh bracelets make perfect sense. Presented in steel, gold-plated and rose gold-plated versions, the metallic presence of these new 35mm SBB Mini Giant models makes a bold statement. Available in August these models will start at £175, going up to £255.

Available in April, the three-model Mondaine SBB Simply Elegant collection is sure to drive Mondaine fans dotty. According to Mondaine, the new slim-line 36mm and 41mm cases give the watches an almost futuristic look. Whilst the two 36mm models are presented on polka dot leather straps, the 41mm model uses a vintage-look brown leather strap for a completely different look. These models which use sapphire crystal, will be available in April and sell for £275.

The Mondaine Helvetica brand will also be expanded by the six SKUs within the handsome new Bleu Marine collection. Dark navy dials and leather straps are common across the new collection, which features 26mm and 38mm case sizes in steel and rose-plated steel, matching the satin-finished cases to the hour and minute hands. 33mm and 40mm steel models will also be available with 12 numeral hour markers. RRPs will range from £220 to £280 when the steel models drop in March. The rose gold-plated models will follow in August priced £265 and £295.
