Aviator might have reaffirmed its Swiss credentials in recent years, but its watches still celebrate Russian military aviation, much like the latest model the brand will be showcasing at Baselworld.
The 45mm MiG-35 Chrono is named after the Russian air force’s most advanced combat aircraft and takes inspiration from the aircraft’s design such as the fine-brushed caseband and the lines used to sculpt its pushers and crown.
The rubber strap also reflects the oxygen hose used to keep its pilots conscious during high-altitude flights. The quartz watch’s chronograph registers on the dial are also picked out in red to neatly differentiate them from timekeeping functions.
