To launch into a 50-day countdown until the doors of Messe Basel open to the global watch industry for Baselworld 2016, WatchPro will be focusing on one brand exhibiting at the show each day and the watches they will be showcasing.
We begin with these exclusive images from Maurice Lacroix’s Masterpiece collection, the new Masterpiece Skeleton and Masterpiece Chronograph Skeleton.
Maurice Lacroix is likely to be bang-on trend with these pieces as Skeleton watches already seem to have a healthy representation at this year’s Basel; Moonphase watches will be everywhere this year as well.
While the 43mm Masterpiece Skeleton, with small seconds at the nine o’clock position, is powered by an open-worked, handwound ML134 manufacture movement decorated with spiral-pattern grand colimaçon decoration with sandblasted mainplate in a choice of black, gold or blue tones.
The Masterpiece Skeleton Chronograph is presented as three options; steel case with silvered dial; black PVD steel case with matching dial and steel case with silvered dial and 4N solid gold bezel.
The 45mm watch uses a new automatic chronograph movement produced exclusively for Maurice Lacroix which uses Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges and rotor. Small seconds are presented at the nine o’clock and indicated by a rotating ‘M’ logo with a 30-minute counter at the three o’clock which uses a bold red wheel.
