WINNER: OLIVIA BURTON

It has been an incredible year for Olivia Burton, which was bought in the summer by American giant Movado Group for £60 million.

The company was launched by Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings in 2011 and began selling fashion watches under the Olivia Burton brand in 2012. It added jewellery to its portfolio last year.

Sales rose by 64% to £15 million in the most recent financial year, bucking a market trend that has seen sales fall for most fashion watch businesses.

After the acquisition, Ms Bennett and Ms Fennings are probably glad to get back to their day job of designing and marketing stylish watch collections, and the evidence of their AW17 collections is that they are destined for further success.
