The Queen was gifted one of Jaeger's 101 timepieces, which has the brand's calibre 101, a tiny movement that has a total weight of just a gram.
Jaeger-LeCoultre has gifted one its diamond 101 timepieces to Queen Elizabeth as part of its involvement with the Diamond Jubilee Pageant, of which it is official timekeeper.
The brand chief executive Jerome Lambert presented a 101 jewellery timepiece to the Queen in reference to the diamond Jaeger timepiece that she wore at her coronation 60 years ago.
Lambert spoke with the Queen while she took a closer look at the 101 watch, known for its delicate proportions and use of the tiny Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 101, the world’s smallest mechanical movement.
He told her: “The entire family of Jaeger-LeCoultre is particularly proud to see the 101 in the Royal collection again.”
The calibre 101 movement was first created in 1929 and its tiny parts total barely one gram in terms of weight.
Its jewellery version adorned Queen Elizabeth II of England at her coronation in 1953
