Auction house Matthew Barton will put watches from houses including IWC and Patek Philippe under the gavel on May 22.

The London auction house has placed a pre-auction estimate of £6,000 to £8,000 on a 18ct gold Patek Philippe dating from 1955, and also has a number of IWC men’s watches up for sale with pre-auction estimates ranging between £1,000 and £4,000.

Other wristwatches on sale at the auction include a 1965 men’s watch and diamond-set ladies watch from Omega, TAG Heuer Formula 1 diver’s watch, a 1935 Buren, a 1950s Le Phare, a stainless steel Asprey, 1970s Breitling Navitimer, 1980s Baume & Mercier and an unbranded ladies watch with freshwater pearl strap,

Matthew Barton will host a viewing of the watches at its west London showroom on May 20.

The watches will form part of a wider auction of 440 lots that includes silverware, jewellery, ceramics and works of art.
